Jeffrey Payne - International Mr. Leather 2009
From an austere start growing up in a Louisiana orphanage, Jeffrey Payne went on to attend Louisiana Tech University, and eventually settled down in New Orleans. While in ‘the Big Easy”, Jeffrey headed the compliance program for the Louisiana Department of Labor, but was forced to relocate to Dallas, Texas when Hurricane Katrina shook the city.
With a BA from Texas A&M University, until recently Jeffrey worked as a Human Resource Manager for a Fortune 500 company, overseeing the corporate and sales divisions, as well as four manufacturing facilities located around the U.S. Jeffrey resigned his position with the company upon being selected International Mr. Leather 2009 so that could devote his time living his dream of serving as an ambassador for the Leather Community, and working diligently through the Sharon St. Cyr Fund, Inc. to create awareness and raise money for the many charitable organizations the SSC Fund supports.
Jeffrey and his partner David Roy founded the SSC Fund in an effort to ensure that the visibility awarded to Jeffrey as a title holder would benefit the community long after the title was passed on to another IML. The SSC Fund is a charity organization with the vision of supporting the Leather Archives & Museum, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF), and "Hearing from The Heart" – a program designed by the SSC Fund to assist persons within our community with hearing impairments.
The SSC Fund is named after Sharon St. Cyr, Jeffrey’s mother, who passed away when he was 3 years old. A stay at home mom, she always supported everyone with extended arms and an open heart, and has been a constant source of inspiration and solidarity in the work he has done to benefit the Alternative communities. Sharon St. Cyr was born and raised in Maine and her resting place is in Rumford, Maine.
Jeffrey is honored to hold the titles of Mr. Dallas Eagle 2009, Mr. Texas Leather 2009 and International Mr. Leather 2009. He is an active member of the Leather Knights, Dallas Area Male Naturalists, National Leather Association - International, Dallas Independent Volleyball Association, Shirts and Skins and Couples Metro Dallas, as well as a voting member of the Leather Archives and Museum. He enjoys volleyball, water volleyball, being a pastry chef, practicing some spare time massage therapy and, of course, traveling.
Jeffrey is married to David Roy, and together they share their home in Dallas with boy adam and their four children, Isabella & Lucy (miniature Dachshunds) and Korbin & Konner (miniature Poodles).
