Daniel Ruester
No stranger to the European leather community, Daniel Ruester - aka Mama´s German Daddy - was born in Berlin and has lived in both Cologne and Frankfurt. As a Founding Member of Folsom Europe, he also served that organization as President and Producer. , and has also served as President of Folsom Europe Events. He has been equally active in various community sport organizations including the Bidding Committee for the 1999 Eurogames, the Frankfurt Volleyball Verein and, and also served as a Delegate of the European Gay & Lesbian Sports Federation at The Hague. He also competed in the Eurogames, winning medals in 1995 and 1996, and was a Bronze medalist at the Gay Games in Amsterdam in 1998. He has volunteered for both SchwlPS e.V in Cologne (HIV/AIDS outpatient care and for Checkpoint, the GLBT Center in Cologne.
Presently, Daniel is serving as President of Folsom Europe Events and is on the Board of Governors of the Leather Hall of Fame in Cleveland. He was the winner of the International Pantheon of Leather Award in 2006. Formerly a private investment banker, Daniel now works for Lufthansa – which gives him the opportunity to travel worldwide in his pursuit of skiing, handball, architecture, good wines and slow food.
Daniel and his partner, Juan Antoinio Martin Lorenzo, will be married in 2010.
