International Mr. Bootblack Competition

IML is pleased to once again welcome and offer our thanks to Bootwerks of Ft. Lauderdale as the presenting sponsor of the International Mr. Bootblack Competition.

A Message from David Hawks, Coordinator of International Mr. Bootblack

IML 2009 will be my tenth year as, in one capacity or another, a member of the IML Family. It's been a great pleasure to oversee the Bootblack competition and help it grow, change and improve...and change and improve it has. With the community's suggestions and a great deal of help we changed the way we presented the competition and the contestants and we gave the winners a few tools to use during their title year.

But not everything changed. Over the past seventeen years, one thing has remained the same. The passion, intensity and closeness felt and shared by a small group of men just trying to polish boots. It's this feeling I look forward to each year...and so far the boys haven't disappointed me.

As we celebrate the seventeenth anniversary of International Mr. Bootblack, I want to issue a challenge to each of you. Seek, find and share your passions...just like the boys competing here. It might just change your life.
