Wolf Freed

Wolf, identifiable by a unique chest tattoo or his occasional “paw haircut,” has been actively involved in the leather community for over a decade. He joined the Chicago Hellfire Club (CHC) in 1998, and he maintains that Associate Membership as well as one in San Francisco’s The 15 Association, an S/M club he joined eight years ago.

For the past eleven years, he has been a perennial participant at Chicago Hellfire Club’s Inferno. During that same period he has attended several other multi-day leather runs including: Discipline Corps’ Esprit de Corps; New York Renegades’ Renegade Run; The 15 Association’s Boot Camp; Thunder in the Mountains; and Tsarus’ run Aida.

Wolf also enjoys leather events, and over the past decade could have been seen riding in Alameda County Leather Corps’ Motorcycle Poker Run; carousing at Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fairs; enjoying all aspects of International Mr. Leather; dancing at Phoenix Uniform Club of San Francisco’s Uniform & Leather Ball; participating in the Russian River Leather Weekend; and either walking or riding his motorcycle with the Leather Contingency in the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade.

A volunteer by nature, Wolf has been recognized for outstanding service to his two leather clubs. The 15 Association presented to him in 2005 the Founder’s Pin, and CHC presented to him the J. Paul Eaton Award in 2006.

In addition to serving his clubs, he has contributed time, effort and capital toward events to help fight AIDS. These include several AIDS Walks in both Chicago and San Francisco, a motorcycle run for the Shanti Project, and most recently helping his leather pup solicit donations for the National AIDS Marathon Training Program, in which the pup participated by running the December 2007 Las Vegas Marathon.

In 1985 and for several years thereafter, Wolf volunteered at Chicago’s Howard Brown Health Center in both their Massage Therapy and their Support Buddy Programs for Persons with AIDS. It was there he met Bruce, his life partner of now 22 years. His immediate leather family has grown to include his Dad, Tony; his boy, wes (with boy scott); Wolf’s pup, Keidog; and a brother in leather, Ed.

Wolf has sung with the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus and the Oakland-East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus, and when not working as a Chief Financial Officer, he enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic along the Pacific Coast Highway and through the nearby California Wine Country.
