IML Contest Judging

There are nine judges and two tally masters.

No scores from Preliminary Judging are carried forward.

The judges score each finalist three separate times: leather image (0 to 40), presentation skills (0-40), and physical appearance (0-20) for a combined total of 0 to 100 per finalist.

After all finalists have been introduced, each judge writes down one score (0 to 40 - whole numbers only) for each finalist's Leather Image. The tallymasters collect the Leather Image score sheets.

During the first group of finalists giving their speech, each judge writes down one score (0 to 40 - whole numbers only) for each finalist's presentation skills. Judges keep these score sheets until both groups of finalists have presented their speech.

After all finalists have appeared for the Physical Image section, each judge writes down one score (0 to 20 - whole numbers only) for each finalist's physical appearance. The tallymasters collect the Physical Image score sheets.

During the second group of finalists giving their speech, each judge writes down one score (0 to 40 - whole numbers only) for each finalist's presentation skills. The tally masters collect all the presentation skills score sheets.

The tallymasters proceed as follows:

  1. Place all Leather Image scores (0 to 40) from each judge for each finalist into the spreadsheet.
  2. Place all Physical Appearance scores (0 to 20) from each judge for each finalist into the spreadsheet.
  3. Place all Presentation Skills scores (0 to 40) from each judge for each finalist into the spreadsheet.
  4. Total each judge's three scores (0 to 100) for each finalist.
  5. Eliminate the high and the low total judge's scores for each finalist.
  6. Add the remaining 7 scores for Total Combined Final Score (0 to 700)
  7. Review for accuracy.
  8. Put the name of the highest scoring finalist in a sealed envelope marked WINNER
  9. Put the name of the 2nd highest scoring finalist in a sealed envelope marked 1ST RUNNER UP
